The China Premium Textile Exhibition (South Africa) (CPT) has successfully attracted significant international attention since its inception in Cape Town, running for five consecutive editions. The 2024 exhibition is set to be the largest yet, spanning over 5,000 square meters and featuring more than 300 exhibitors. Since its establishment in 2016, the number and quality of professional visitors have steadily increased. Post-exhibition data shows that leading industry retailers and agents, including Pep, Woolworths, Poetry Stores, Home Choice, and Mr Price Group, were present at the event. Analyzing the data, manufacturers, boutique retailers, importers/traders, service providers, and department stores were the primary visitor categories. Fabric was the most popular product category, followed by menswear, footwear and accessories, outdoor sportswear, and womenswear.

The CPT is held concurrently with the Allfashion Sourcing Cape Town, which focuses on apparel, textiles, leather, and footwear. Michael Dehn of Messe Frankfurt South Africa emphasized that Messe Frankfurt, the world's third-largest exhibition company, places great importance on emerging markets like Africa. Establishing a presence in South Africa is a key strategic initiative for the company. Leveraging the textile trade promotion experience and Messe Frankfurt's global exhibition network, the event promises to deliver a visually captivating and highly engaging showcase that will appeal to buyers across Africa.

Nantong, renowned as China’s "Textile Capital," supplies nearly 60% of the world’s bedding products. Over the past decade, Nantong's manufacturing industry has undergone a remarkable transformation. The historic textile hub is rapidly evolving into a diversified manufacturing base, driving significant economic growth. Nantong’s GDP surpassed one trillion yuan in 2020, reaching 1.1027 trillion yuan in 2021, marking a high point in the city’s journey towards high-quality development.

To guide and promote Nantong enterprises in expanding international markets and securing substantial orders, the Nantong Municipal Bureau of Commerce has been actively preparing and planning to support foreign trade enterprises in participating in overseas exhibitions. This initiative aims to boost market confidence among foreign trade enterprises, providing strong momentum for the acceleration of Nantong’s foreign trade transformation, upgrading, and innovation. Over the years, the Bureau has meticulously organized the "Nantong Premier Products Go Global" series of international exhibitions, focusing on Nantong’s specialty industries. The China Premium Textile Exhibition (South Africa), scheduled for September 10-12, 2024, at the Cape Town International Convention Center, is a key stop in this year’s “Nantong Premier Products Go Global” initiative.
