World’s First CIIE-themed Airplane Flies to Beijing to Celebrate 1st Birthday of Daxing Airport

The world’s first China International Import Expo (CIIE)-themed aircraft flew from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to Beijing Daxing International Airport as flight MU5129 on Sept. 25, celebrating the first anniversary of the airport with nearly 300 passengers.

 

The special colored airplane, which is jointly launched by China Eastern Airlines (China Eastern) and China International Import Expo Bureau, took off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 8:26 a.m., and landed smoothly on the runway of Daxing airport at 10:08 a.m.



During the flight, Cabin crew  cut a cake decorated with a pattern featuring the terminal building of Beijing Daxing International Airport and the words meaning “dream together and prosper together” to share the joywith passengers on the flight.      

 

 


Sept. 25 marked the first anniversary of the Beijing Daxing International Airport and also the first time that the CIIE-themed airplane flew an air route to the airport, according to the announcements, which suggested that the plane flew to the great national gateway of Beijing Daxing International Airport and a prosperous future with the vision of “shared future in the new era”.      

  

 


Over the past two months, the plane has made trips spanning more than ten countries in Europe, America, Australia, and Asia to promote the CIIE, with the total flight mileage exceeding 100,000 kilometers. Beijing Daxing International Airport was the first domestic destination of the aircraft’s global tour.
